Snow at last.

I am one very happy person today.
It’s snowing, Mr B couldn’t get to work, I’ve had hot chocolate with cream and brandy all before 1pm, we’ve been for a walk and taken loads of pictures, everywhere looks beautiful, we are cooking some nice soup and a tasty chicken, plus cake, lots of cake.
My conservatory roof is laden with snow, every now and again it has its own small avalanche. Sitting inside the conservatory is like being in an igloo, its fantastic.
Make the most of the snow it probably wont last very long, keep warm, keep safe, and enjoy the beauty of it all.
Days like today don’t come around that often, they are very special, enjoy.

More mason jars, and a blog recommendation.

Just a quick blog tonight as I am making sure my toboggan is all ready to go in the morning!
Snow at last, I’m so excited.

Do you remember the Mason Jar blog?
Do you remember me meeting a friend who lives just around the corner from me, on holiday, in America?

Well lets put those two things together and this is what you come up with.

My friend Terri has made her own mason jars today. via the how to blog,

Terri found the jar with writing on it in TK Max, it is filled with ice tea, lemon and orange slices.
Looks amazing Terri well done, hope you enjoy them and find them just as useful as I do.

Tonight I had a blog comment from one of my oldest son’s friends called Ben.
Ben has very kindly recommended a blog called ‘What Katie ate’ take a look, it has amazing photography and even more amazing food.
Thanks Ben.

Photograph from Katies blog.

Make yourself a mason jar, fill it with something wonderful to drink, cook yourself an amazing meal from Katie’s blog.
Take a walk in the snow with your camera in hand.
Perfect.

Today’s Juice.

Eaten too much rich food these past few days? Then lets get back to the juice making.
It’s funny isn’t it, you look forward to christmas and enjoy all the preparation and generally enjoy every minute of it. Yet straight after boxing day you feel the need to get on with normal life, eat more healthy things once again, and have a good clear out of your home. Well I do anyway.
How long does it take for you to attack the decorations that you have loved having out, but now seem claustrophobic, and do you long for more space and a simpler style?
Anyway I digress, back to today’s juice, take some long overdue to be eaten kiwi’s, a banana, and a handful of black grapes, all whizzed together with a measure of pineapple juice.
This juice has gone a lovely green colour because of the delicious, tangy, vitamin C-rich kiwi fruit.
Great for your energy, immunity, digestion and skin.
Now how much longer do I have to wait before taking the tree down?

Boston Massachusetts USA

1 hour delay due to one of the planes emergency exit doors not shutting properly (no of course that didn’t make me feel any worse about flying), 7 hours 30 minutes in the air, then landed to the most beautiful sunny day in Boston.
Pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, no shortage hear me thinks!
Five small dogs waiting for their coffee outside Starbucks, I think they were having Pumpkin skinny latte! Excuse the quality of the picture but at the time I took this I had been up for 18 hours! You know the deal, try and stay awake until it really is your bed time at the new time.
Managed to fit in some shopping and tomorrow is another sunny day, in fact the whole weekend is set to be beautiful!

Autumn

I dont know about you but I’m getting in the Autumn mood, so I thought just to get you into the mood I would show you some of my old photographs of my past Autumn/Fall trips to New England. I apologise for the quality of the photographs, but still thought they were worth looking at.
Don’t think Halloween (although I have to say they do it so well, just good fun and family stuff for anyone aged 0 to 100), think more just celebrating harvest and all the beautiful colours and smells and food that that brings.
Enjoy.
By the way almost everyone decorates the front of their house’s for the fall and get this, nothing gets vandalised not even in the middle of Boston which is like a mini London, imagine that!!!!!!!!
