Goodbye Olympics I’ve enjoyed watching you.

I confess I didn’t know what to think about the U.K hosting the Olympics, we sometimes don’t get things quite right, but congratulations to everyone involved it has been excellent, and if you have unexpectedly been like myself getting hooked on the media coverage, you may get more done when it is finished! I have had the T.V on most of the time when I have been home and have from time to time been sat on the edge of my seat shouting at the T.V!
Yesterday we had to go to Winchester on the hunt for new glasses (why do so many pairs of glasses have diamonds or some sort of weird embellishment on them? Sorry, I’m going of the point here!). Afterwards we decided to go for a walk around the back of Winchester, you really feel like you are in the countryside, but you are never far away from the town, it is very peaceful and a beautiful river walk.
When we had done the approximate 2 mile loop, we returned to the Cathedral where through the whole of the Olympics people have been able to watch the proceedings on a huge screen with the Cathedral as the back drop. How good is that to be able to sit on the grass with all your friends and join in with the Olympic feeling, it has to be the next best thing to being at the real Olympics.
So thank you Olympics it’s been fun, although it will be a shame that everything will turn back to normal next week, it is quite possible that I will stand some chance of getting more done.

Here are some pictures of firstly things we liked on our walk around Winchester, and the excellent tribute to the Olympics for all those living and visiting Winchester in the last few weeks.

I agree,Karen, after all the negative press on the lead up to the games it has been amazing and given every one a lift during this “iffy” summer.

Love the picture of the petunias matching the door, very artistic!
The calf is cute, looks like an interesting walk, lucky you.

I kind of had hope for the Olympics, I tried to be positive about all the negativity surrounding it, mostly the transport. I certainly wasn’t disappointed, Its been by far the best event I’ve been so lucky to have seen. Very gutted its finished, but I will look forward to Rio. (hate to admit it but spice girls weren’t even that bad in the closing ceremony!).

    On a different note,

Karen Barclay blog cards are on there way!!!!

I know what you mean, I have just come home and instantly went to turn on the T.V to see who had won any gold medals, only to remember that the Olympics had finished! Felt a bit odd and kind of flat in a kind of ‘oh what now then’ sort of way. Funny how quickly you get used to something.
Blog cards made by my favourite designer! Wahooooooooo
