Two bits of nice.

Peonies beautiful peonies, need I say more. I spent £5 on five peonies in bud six days ago and as far as I can tell I have a lot more enjoyment left, what a small price to pay for so much pleasure.

My Kinfolk magazine arrived in the post today, thank you to Town Mill Bakery for bringing this magazine to my attention, I have spent a pleasant hour sat in my conservatory reading some of the articles and I look forward to more.

Such a beautifully presented magazine.

Leela’s spoons she has collected from her travels, now that she is settled they remind her of pleasant times every time she uses them.

A collection of photographs to remind you spring has arrived.

A mother and son making bread, but really so much more.

Morning rituals, the pleasure of breakfast.

The goodness of handcrafted gifts.

I can’t tell you what a pleasure this magazine is to browse through, yes it’s expensive but there are no adverts and its more like a book really, something that you can dip in and out of over and over again. A magazine to inspire, a magazine to make you slow down stop and think and appreciate some of the simple things in life, and to appreciate the best that is.
This magazine wont be thrown away but will earn its place on my bookshelf for years to come, a little bit of nice to brighten my day.

Love the peonies.we have some in bud in the garden, will keep a close eye on them and the weather..if we have repeats of the last few days will probably rescue them and bring them indoors to enjoy!

Have just downloaded Kinfolk magazine onto iPad ,not quite the same as having a magazine to browse through but will be interesting to read.

I have been doing a lot of bringing flowers indoors this summer! Foxgloves, Roses, geraniums to name but a few, they have all been snapped off in the bad weather we have been having, on the plus side I have enjoyed looking at them in the evenings indoors and they smell wonderful.
Hope you like the Kinfolk magazine as much as me, let me know what you think. It is very different but very lovely.

Peonies and roses are my favourite flowers. I have never had much luck with peonies although I have had one flower this year and it was worth waiting for, my roses are gorgeous and even the thorns don’t put me off! I might have to give this magazine a look, it sounds lovely, I too love handmade things, they are full of so much more than merely time and effort, I love to see the makers personality and emotion in them.

After two days of gardening for other people and taming their roses that have been battered in this delightful summer weather that we haven’t been having, I now look like a self harm person, thorns on roses are very nasty!
